In the spirit of transparency and candour, we publish weeknotes reflecting on the what and why for the ENV service transformation team.
Kelsey’s notes
It really felt like mid-summer this week — warm nights, out off office kickbacks and already looking to fall for meetings and events.
On that note, I’ll keep it short and high-level reporting out on the week:
- Jumped into the service design space of our Compliance and Enforcement work and got up to speed on two existing service blueprints for the Conservation Officer Service and Compliance and Enforcement Branch. H/T to Steph and John from Versett on their work here — clear, simple communication of a complex service space. It was also great to think ahead to the team and roles to support this work going forward.
- Confirmed a WordPress developer to support CleanBC through March 2023. Big sigh of relief and procurement win to have this secured for the team.
- Kept on thinking about digital era teams and leadership at the July Digital Era Leadership Program session and in conversations across govt.
- Found a bit more clarity on tying service transformation work and capital funding back to natural resource sector priorities. Thanks Amy for sharing her knowledge and ideas in this space.
- Identified a learning space for me on data strategy. Time to lean in here in the coming months.
No reading list, just too many open tabs. Some tabs of note:
- What is governance as a service? by Richard McLean
- Hyper Island Toolbox
- Government of Canada Digital Playbook
- The Everything-Is-Weird Economy by Derek Thompson
Kevin’s notes
Kevin got COVID this week, so he’s taking a breather on weeknotes.
